Juried & Exhibit Entries
This year we are looking for quilts and wearable art to be submitted for either judged competition, or exhibition, during the festival. The quilts and wearable art being submitted for either juried entry or exhibition must fall under one of the following categories:
Made in Mexico
Quilts and wearable pieces made locally in Mazatlán or anywhere in Mexico.
Quilts or wearable art that celebrate women of the world – March 8th (last day of MQCF) is Int’l Women’s Day!
Quilters of the Future
Youth under 18 – Free for both judged or exhibited entries.
Sports of the World
Haven’t you heard? The Venados and their fans love quilts – show us your homerun quilt or wearable art piece!
Quilts or wearable art to be shared from anywhere in the world – Bring your favorite to Mexico!
Quilts from the Past

Judging & Prizes
Each category will have cash prizes for quilts and wearable art that place first through third, Honorable mention will be given those that place fourth. There will also be $100 cash prizes for Viewer’s Choice and Judge’s Choice; as well as additional ribbons and gift certificates to be awarded.
Quilts and wearable art will be judged as follows:
Originality & execution of design – 20 pts
Use & harmony of color – 20 pts
(piecing on top, applique, etc.) – 20 pts
Quilting – 20 pts
Binding & finshing of work
(embellishments, binding, etc.) – 20 pts
Total: 100 pts
Originality & execution of design – 30 pts
Use & harmony of color – 30 pts
(uniformity of stitches, construction of garment, etc.) – 30 pts
Finishing of garment
(embellishments, binding, etc.) – 10 pts
Total: 100 pts
